Quincy Public School Breakfast Program
Quincy Public School offers a breakfast program that takes place every morning Monday thru Friday at 8:00am in the school gym. The cost is 60 cents and includes juice, milk, cereal, muffin and fruit. Please take advantage of this great program.
“The Feelin' Good Mileage Club
Mrs. Franceschini, BKS Physical Education teacher, has already begun “The Feelin' Good Mileage Club.” This club is optional and takes place at lunch recess. They can participant for one recess day or all four days. The students have an option to run, walk or jog laps around a measured field in the school playground. When the students complete 5 miles, 6 laps equals 1 mile, they receive a toe token and for each 10 miles completed they receive a certificate and their name goes on a footprint which is then posted on the gym wall. This is a FUN program for the students and is not mandatory, but adds a fitness component to their day if they choose.
The Docent Art Program
The Docent Art Program has begun presenting artwork to all students, kindergarten thru grade 5. A volunteer, usually a BKS parent, discusses four or five pieces of artwork with the students, one teacher and one grade at a time. The program provides detailed description of the artists and their work to help create a lively discussion. The students really enjoy this program. They are having so much fun; they forget that they are actually learning about different artists.
If you would like to volunteer or need more information, please contact the Docent Art Coordinator, Kelly Cobble at 617-471-4358 or email cobblekle@gmail.com.
